I am an American expat from the greater New York City area, age 38. I moved to the Netherlands nearly 5 years ago, so I am quite well adjusted. I hold a University degree in English, an Associate Degree in biology, and a Medical Assistant Certificate. I worked for a pediatrician for over a year and hold certifications in CPR, first aid, and the Heimlich Maneuver. I spent about 5 years in childcare, taking on both long-term and short-term jobs for parents, including in Utrecht and Den Haag.
I'm pleased to help with preparing meals, light cleaning, schoolwork (if it's in English). I enjoy teaching, being creative, walking/playing outdoors (weather permitting), and reading aloud. I love animals, so pets are OK. I'm exceedingly patient and I ascribe to the philosophy that remaining calm with smiles is the best way to help a child overcome distress. I'm flexible with my schedule and look forward to hearing from you. Please note that I am a non-smoker and carry liability insurance.
